I will never understand the pain of African Americans, Muslims, LGBTQIA people, refugees, Latinxs, Indigineous peoples, people with disabilities, and others that are put in harm's way. I believe that empathy for a different race, religion, culture, or even our neighbors across the country is the most important weapon we have. I have a moral obligation to stand for my brothers and sisters-not just my blood relatives-but my friends who suffer from any injustice. On Valentine's Day, I commit myself to you. Today and always: I will stand with you by raising my voice when you are falsely represented. I will oppose all forms of hate and systemic inequality and instead choose to fight with love, truth, and justice. Finally, I will care for my own mind, body, and spirit. Creating awareness of my priviledge to have access to water and foods; exercise with intent of building a stronger self that can march, organize, and protest for the sake of others; reflect on how to take the grief and resentment in my heart and turn it into compassion for all people- even those perceived as my "opponents". #LOVEARMY #REVOLUTIONARYLOVE #VALENTINESDAY
